FoodSafe Stainless supply a new range of Enhanced Ferritic Stainless Steels to benefit Catering Equiment manufacturers and related industrial segments.

Enhanced Ferritics have high Chrome content, typically 18-20%, and are stabilised by Titanium and/or Niobium rather than Nickel. These stainless steels perform as well as type 304 and 316 for certain applications.

The cost is lower and the price is more stable

Why the grade you select should be FoodSafe®
In food service use, 90% of corrosion is caused by pitting corrosion. Pitting cannot be cleaned, entraps residues and bacteria and leads to further corrosion and ultimate failure of the steel in severe cases.

To avoid pitting, it is important to choose the right grade for the sevice conditions. Food equipment stainless steel must resist the chlorides and organic acids contained in food.

The Stainless Steel must have good heat resistance and thermal conductivity.

FoodSafe® Enhanced Ferritic Stainless Steels, grades 441 and 444, can outperform 304 and 316 for the right applications and with proper maintenance.

Ferritic Stainless Steels contain no Nickel and at high temperatures can perform better than austenitics.

Enhanced Ferritic Stainless Steels are fully approved for use by the Food Industry. FoodSafe®. These grades are used already by European Catering Equipment manufacturers.
